Sustainable Packaging System

At El Puerto de Liverpool, we recognize that sustainability extends beyond the product itself to include its packaging. We continuously strengthen our Sustainable Packaging System designed under rigorous efficiency and lifecycle performance standards to transform our value chain and minimize environmental impact across all our business formats: Liverpool, Suburbia, and Boutiques.

Our Packaging Initiatives:

• Consolidation of Official FSC License (2025 Milestone): We achieved the acquisition and consolidation of our first official FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) license. This milestone formally ensures that the paper and cardboard packaging materials used for our private labels originate from responsibly managed forests, elevating procurement standards across the entire group.
• Efficient Design and Volume Reduction: We tailor box dimensions and packaging strictly to product size particularly in e-commerce to eliminate empty space, minimize void fill, and optimize transportation logistics.
• Recycled and Sustainable Materials: We prioritize the use of recycled, recyclable, and biodegradable materials. We maintain the use of institutional kraft bags made with high percentages of recycled content, as well as post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials in garment covers and non-woven fabric bags.
• Elimination of Single-Use Plastics: We continue to eradicate traditional disposable plastics across our operations, replacing them with sustainable alternatives such as recycled paper and compostable biopolymers to lower our overall environmental footprint.
• Circular Economy and Customer Engagement: We actively involve our customers in our sustainability efforts through collection and reuse programs at strategic points, such as our Click & Collect service, allowing packaging to be returned for future fulfillment cycles.

Through these actions, we reaffirm our commitment to the continuous evolution of our packaging, delivering efficient, transparent, and environmentally responsible solutions at every interaction.
